Opsy #7: Improving your workflow one snippet at a time
Do you have a tool you’re obsessed with?
That you try to convince everyone to use because you just know it’s going to make their life better?
TextExpander is one of these tools for me. I will sing its praises all day, every day now… but it took me a while to get on board. Five years, in fact!
My friend Kelli Smith, Senior Operations Manager at Skillcrush, is what you’d call a power user. She recommended the tool to me years ago and I “uh-huh’ed” my way through half a decade before seeing the light and vowing to never again ignore her recommendations.
All this to say, Kelli is the perfect person to give you a crash course on how TextExpander can improve you and your team’s workflows. She knows all the tips and tricks, and has used it to save herself +600 hours in the ~5 years she’s been using it. (No, that's not a typo. 👀)
↪️ Save time, stop mistakes, and stay consistent with TextExpander
This post is most useful for folks who:
- Work in customer support or client-facing roles where you repeat yourself a lot
- Send a lot of templated (but personalized) emails and wish there was an easy way to mail-merge that shit inside your own inbox
- Find yourself reaching for the same links over and over
... and basically everyone?

[Article] Portugal passes new remote work regulations
Portugal made headlines last week by banning employers from contacting their workers' after hours in an effort to protect their "right to rest." But there were a few other interesting tidbits too—notably, companies are now on the hook for home office costs like electricity and internet, and parents who have children eight and under can work remotely without asking for permission, so long as their job duties allow for it. 😮 It'll be interesting to see how more laws like this affect international remote teams!
